Historic Grand Avenue Tour

Grand Avenue was once the commercial spine of the city of East Portland and the bustling street is still home to the oldest buildings in the Central Eastside. This tour explores much of the East Portland/Grand Avenue Historic District between Belmont and Burnside, an area filled with an amazing mix of architectural styles from Italianate to Art Deco, and including a few hidden gems along the way. You’ll see former fraternal lodges and mortuaries that have been reinvented for new uses while maintaining their historic character, and at the center of it all is West’s Block, home of the Architectural Heritage Center.
