Mid-Century Modern Dream: Cocktail Party at the 1958 Kaen House

Party with pizzazz at the 1958 Edward & Helen Kaen house in Oregon City. Designed by Dimitri Alexis, this unique International-style home is built into bedrock at the top of the bluff. Glass sliders lining the north and west façades showcase magnificent views spanning the Willamette Falls to Portland. Inside you will find original "modern" features like a built-in kitchen blender, natural gas floor lamp hook ups, "Jack and Jill" bathrooms, and even a home elevator! Many features in this home are original, and great care has been taken to restore and repair with original brands and design intent. A bartender will be mixing cocktails to go with a selection of 1950s-style delicacies. The evening includes live music by Rainforest Jazz (Bill French, piano and Connie Johnson, vibraphone). 

This party was initially offered at the 2018 AHC auction gala, and proceeds benefit AHC programs and operations. Thanks to Kirsten Sandberg and Nick Leonard for this donation.
