Richardson, Sullivan, Wright, and the Art of Architecture

The built works of architects Henry Hobson Richardson, Louis Sullivan, and Frank Lloyd Wright are widely known, yet we're less familiar with the extensive use of art in their building projects. In this all new AHC lecture, Jim Varner examines how and why this famous triumvirate incorporated art into their architecture. You'll also learn about some of the artists, including Marion Mahony, who was also one of the first licensed women architects, and Richard Bock, designer of several sculptures for the 1893 Chicago World's Columbian Exposition, who later went on to work extensively with Wright.
