Description

Queen Anne and Tudor and Mission, oh my!

Have you ever been confused by how to describe the wide variety of Portland area house styles? At the AHC we regularly receive calls, including everyone from residents to realtors, asking us to help determine a house’s style. If you’ve ever wondered what style to call your house (or your neighbor’s) here’s a great opportunity!

Come hear Professor Tom Hubka as he helps us make sense out of the architectural styles common to houses built in Portland over the past 150 years. Through photos and diagrams, Tom will help us to better understand the details to look for in styles ranging from early Greek Revival to the modern Ranch, and everything in-between. From architect designed to the vernacular, this program will provide you with a better understanding of Portland house styles.
