IMPORTANT NOTE: UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, MOUTH AND NOSE FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED TO BE WORN BY ALL WALKING TOUR ATTENDEES OVER THE AGE OF TWO (2). TOURS IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA ARE LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM OF SEVEN (7) PEOPLE PLUS THE DOCENT(S).

This 11-block downtown area was first platted and donated to the City of Portland in 1852. By the 1880s the strip of land that once served as a fire break had been transformed into one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city – complete with schools, playgrounds, stately homes, and places of worship – all bordering the new park. Amongst the beautiful architecture on this tour, you’ll see a variety of churches, a former high school, and several historic apartment buildings, all while strolling through groves of elms and listening to stories about the area’s history and architecture.

Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.
